Disability Case Study Overview
Students will develop a paper related to a specific disability. Students will provide an overview of the specified disability as well as outline how the specified disability impacts families, and what cultural differences must be addressed; describes the complex needs of individuals with this disorder/disability, presents a range of special education and community-based supports and services that are needed to maximize their achievement and capacity, and discusses the impact of the disability on normal growth and development and the ability to learn, interact socially and live as fulfilled and contributing members of the community.
Population: Your paper must focus on the ages and populations of students that would be served by teachers holding special education: adapted curriculum endorsements. For example, choosing research on students with mild disabilities does not meet the population requirements of this paper.
Extend: The paper must contribute technical detail that extends the information presented in the text or module materials. Be careful to include technical information and numeric data.
Sources: You must supplement basic information from our texts with at least five additional references from the research literature. Only material that has been published in scholarly books or professional journals no earlier than 2013 may be cited (no magazines or web pages).

Professional Resources: Discuss resources available to professionals who work with learners with the specified disability. Specifically, address:
